College Football Success

  • In 1997, during his second year, he ran for 1,211 yards. He carried the ball 231 times and scored 9 Touchdowns.
  • In 1998, as a junior, he rushed for 1,167 yards. He had 272 carries and scored 10 touchdowns.

Professional Playing Career

Sedrick Irvin was chosen in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL draft. Some scouts thought he might be too slow for the NFL. However, in his first year with the Detroit Lions, he led the team in touchdowns. He played as a backup to James Stewart.

After two years, Irvin faced several injuries. The Lions decided to release him. He then signed with the Miami Dolphins, hoping to return to the NFL. However, he did not play in any games for them.
