Sergio Reguilón Rodríguez (born on December 16, 1996) is a Spanish professional footballer. He plays as a left-back, which is a defensive position on the left side of the field. He last played for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and is currently a free agent.
Sergio grew up playing football in Real Madrid's youth academy, called La Fábrica. He started playing professionally in August 2015 while on loan at Logroñés. In October 2018, he made his first-team debut for Real Madrid. He spent the 2019–20 season on loan at Sevilla, where his team won the UEFA Europa League. He was also named in the competition's best squad for that season. Sergio joined Tottenham Hotspur in September 2020. The club announced he would leave at the end of the 2024–25 season.

Sergio's Football Journey
Starting at Real Madrid
Sergio Reguilón joined Real Madrid's youth system in 2005 when he was eight years old. He came from a team called EFM Villalba. On August 5, 2015, he was loaned to Segunda División B team Logroñés for the season.
He played his first senior game on August 23, 2015. He played the last seven minutes in a 3–0 win against Compostela. On January 16, he returned to Real Madrid. He then played for their reserve team, Real Madrid Castilla, which was also in the third division.
On August 23, 2016, Sergio went back to Logroñés for another one-year loan. This time, he was a regular starter. He scored eight goals during the 2016–17 season. A memorable game was on October 2, 2016, when he scored four goals against Bilbao Athletic in a 5–3 home win.
After returning to Castilla, Sergio became a key player for coach Santiago Solari. He signed a new contract on May 11, 2018. On August 25 of that year, he was moved up to the main Real Madrid team by manager Julen Lopetegui.
Sergio played his first game for Real Madrid's main team on October 2, 2018. He started in a UEFA Champions League match, which they lost 1–0 to CSKA Moscow. His first game in La Liga, Spain's top league, was on November 3, 2018. He started in a 2–0 home win against Real Valladolid.
Loan to Sevilla: A Winning Season
On July 5, 2019, Sergio Reguilón was loaned to Sevilla for the 2019–20 season. In his first official game on August 18, he scored the first goal in a 2–0 victory over Espanyol.
While playing for Sevilla, Sergio became a regular starter. He helped the team win the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League, a big European competition.
Playing for Tottenham Hotspur

On September 19, 2020, Sergio Reguilón joined Tottenham Hotspur in England. He signed a five-year contract. He made his debut on September 29, 2020, in a home game against Chelsea in the League Cup. He helped his teammate Erik Lamela score a goal, and Tottenham won the game after a penalty shootout.
He played his first Premier League game on October 4, in a big 6–1 win against Manchester United. On November 21, 2021, Sergio scored his first goal for Tottenham. It was the winning goal in a 2–1 Premier League match against Leeds United.
Loans to Other Clubs
On August 30, 2022, Sergio returned to Spain. He joined Atlético Madrid on loan until the end of the season. After returning to Tottenham, he then joined Manchester United on a six-month loan on September 1, 2023. This was to help cover for injured left-backs.
He went back to Tottenham on January 2, 2024, when his loan ended. Two weeks later, on January 17, 2024, Tottenham loaned him to another Premier League team, Brentford, until the end of the season.
Leaving Tottenham
In the 2024–25 Premier League season, Sergio often played as a substitute for Tottenham. However, he was not included in their squad for the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League tournament. Even so, Tottenham won the tournament, and Sergio received a winner's medal on May 21, 2025. Ten days later, on May 31, Tottenham announced that Sergio Reguilón would leave the club when his contract ended.
Playing for Spain
Under-21 Team
Sergio Reguilón was first chosen to play for the Spain under-21 team in March 2019. He played his first and only game for the under-21 team against Romania on March 21.
Senior National Team
He received his first call-up to the senior national team on October 4, 2019. Sergio made his debut for the senior team on September 6, 2020. He started in Spain's 4–0 win over Ukraine in the 2020–21 UEFA Nations League.

Sergio was born in Madrid, Spain. His parents are from a place called Zamora. He grew up in Collado Villalba. From 2019 to 2023, he was in a relationship with internet celebrity Marta Díaz.
