Servando Carrasco (born August 13, 1988) is an American former professional soccer player. He played as a defensive midfielder. This means he helped protect his team's goal. He also helped start attacks from the back.

Servando Carrasco's Soccer Journey
Servando Carrasco grew up in Tijuana, Mexico. He later moved to San Diego, California. He played soccer for his high school and for the San Diego Surf club until he was 19. During this time, he won many awards. These included Western League Player of the Year. He also participated in special training programs. These were the Olympic Development Program and the Premier Development Program.
College Soccer Career
In 2007, Carrasco received a scholarship. He went to the University of California, Berkeley.
First Year at Berkeley
During his first year, Carrasco scored two goals. He also helped set up three other goals. He scored his second goal against Washington early in the game. He added another goal against San Diego. This helped his team, the California Golden Bears, win 2–0. He also made several assists to help his teammates score.
Later Years at Berkeley
In 2008, Carrasco was named to the All-Pac-10 second team. He started almost every game. He scored three goals that year. He also had seven assists. One of his assists led to a game-winning goal.
In 2009, he had an ankle injury. This kept him out of some games. But he still earned another All-Pac-10 second-team award. He scored one goal that season.
In 2010, Carrasco was a co-captain for his team. He scored seven goals and had three assists. Over his four years at UC Berkeley, he scored a total of 13 goals.
Professional Soccer Career
On January 13, 2011, Carrasco was chosen in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. This is a special event where professional teams pick new players. He was picked by Seattle Sounders FC. He officially joined the team on March 2, 2011. He played his first game on March 19. This was against the New York Red Bulls.
Carrasco scored his first professional goal on June 8, 2013. It was a penalty kick. His team, Seattle, won 3–2 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Carrasco later played for several other teams. He moved to the Houston Dynamo in 2013. Then, he joined Sporting Kansas City in 2015. On July 20, 2015, he was traded to Orlando City SC. On April 9, 2017, he scored his first goal for Orlando. It was his second career goal overall. He scored with a header from a corner kick. Orlando won 1–0 against the New York Red Bulls.
After the 2017 season, Carrasco was chosen by LA Galaxy. This happened in a special player draft. He signed with LA Galaxy on January 11, 2018. After his time with LA Galaxy, he signed with Fort Lauderdale CF in 2020.
Personal Life
Servando Carrasco was born in the United States. But he spent most of his early childhood in Tijuana, Mexico. When he was seven, his family moved back to the United States. His mother, Gloria, is a two-time survivor of breast cancer.
On December 31, 2014, Carrasco married Alex Morgan. She is also a famous professional soccer player. She plays for the United States women's national team. Their first child, Charlie Elena Carrasco, was born on May 7, 2020. In September 2024, Alex Morgan announced they were expecting their second child.
