Shaquell Kwame "Shaq" Moore (born November 2, 1996) is an American professional soccer player. He plays as a right-back for Major League Soccer club FC Dallas. Shaq also plays for the United States national team.
He started his professional career playing in Spain. There, he played six games in La Liga for Levante. He also played 99 games in Segunda División for Reus and Tenerife. In 2022, he joined Nashville SC in the United States.
Moore first played for the U.S. national team in 2018. He was part of the team that won the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Shaq Moore's Club Career
Starting Out in Soccer
Shaq Moore was born in Powder Springs, Georgia. He trained at the IMG Academy when he was young. In April 2014, he began training with the Major League Soccer team FC Dallas.
In August 2014, Moore moved to Spain. He trained with three teams in Valencia: Valencia CF, Levante UD, and Huracán Valencia CF. He joined Huracán's youth team. On May 9, 2015, he officially signed with Huracán.
Moore played his first senior game on August 22, 2015. He came in as a substitute for Huracán in a 1–1 draw. In January 2016, he joined Real Oviedo Vetusta.
Playing for Levante
On August 30, 2016, Moore moved to Atlético Levante UD. This was another reserve team in Spain's third division.
The next year, on September 30, 2017, he was chosen for the first-team squad. This was for a La Liga match against Deportivo Alavés. Moore played his first game for the main team on October 26, 2017. He started in a 2–0 win against Girona FC in the Copa del Rey.
Three days later, he made his La Liga debut. He came into the game during a 2–2 draw against SD Eibar. Moore became only the fourth American to play in La Liga. He played eight games for Levante's first team that season.
On July 13, 2018, Moore went on loan to CF Reus Deportiu. This team played in the Segunda División. However, he left the team on December 28 because players were not paid.
Time with Tenerife
On July 24, 2019, Moore signed a three-year contract with CD Tenerife. This team also played in the second division. In May 2020, his contract was extended until 2024.
Moore played 101 games for Tenerife. He scored one goal in a 4–2 win against Extremadura UD in February 2020. His last game for Tenerife was on June 19, 2022. The team lost in the playoff final.
Joining Nashville SC
On July 19, 2022, Moore signed with Major League Soccer team Nashville SC. He made his first appearance for Nashville 11 days later. It was a 1–1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Returning to FC Dallas
On December 27, 2024, Moore was traded back to FC Dallas. This move brought him back to an MLS team he had trained with earlier in his career.
Shaq Moore's International Career
Shaq Moore played for the U.S. national team at different youth levels. He played for the under-17, under-18, and under-20 teams. He was captain of the under-17 team in 2012–13. He also played in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Moore was first called up to the senior national team on March 18, 2018. This was for a friendly game against Paraguay. He made his full international debut on June 2, 2018. He came into the game as a substitute in a friendly loss to the Republic of Ireland.
Winning the Gold Cup
After not playing for the national team since November 2018, Moore was called up for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup. On July 18, in a game against Canada, he scored his first international goal. It was the only goal in the American win. He scored after just 20 seconds, which was the fastest goal ever for the U.S. team.
He played in all of his team's games as they won the Gold Cup title. He played in the final against Mexico, helping his team win the championship.
On November 9, 2022, Moore was chosen for the U.S. squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Shaq Moore's Family Life
Shaq Moore's father, Wendell Moore, was also a soccer player. He played for the Trinidad and Tobago national team. Shaq's older brother, CJ, played college soccer for the Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs. His uncle, Richard Goddard, was a goalkeeper for Trinidad and Tobago.
