Shaun Toub (born February 15, 1958) is a talented actor from Iran. He is well-known for playing important characters in many popular movies and TV shows. You might recognize him as Yinsen from the Iron Man movies, Farhad in Crash, or Rahim Khan in The Kite Runner. He has also appeared in TV series like Homeland and Tehran.

Shaun Toub's Early Life
Shaun Toub was born in Tehran, Iran, into an Iranian Jewish family. His parents were both foot doctors. When he was just two years old, his family moved to Manchester, England, so his mother could study podiatry. He later returned to Iran and lived there until he was 13. After that, he moved to Switzerland and then to Nashua, New Hampshire to finish high school. Shaun decided he wanted to be an actor when he was only five years old!
In 2022, he received the Cinema Sepharad award at the Los Angeles Sephardic Film Festival for his work.

Shaun Toub has had a long and successful acting career, appearing in many different types of films and television shows.
Famous Movie Roles
He has worked with famous actors and directors. For example, he was in Michael Bay's Bad Boys with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. He also appeared in John Woo's Broken Arrow alongside John Travolta and Christian Slater.
One of his most praised roles was as Farhad in the Oscar-winning movie Crash. Critics really liked his performance in that film. He also played Joaquim, the father of the Virgin Mary, in The Nativity Story. Another memorable role was Rahim Khan in the movie The Kite Runner (2007).
A role many people know him for is Yinsen in the superhero movie Iron Man (2008) and its sequel Iron Man 3 (2013). He played a very important part in helping Tony Stark become Iron Man. He also played Uncle Iroh in The Last Airbender (2010).
Notable Television Appearances
Shaun Toub has been in many TV series. He played Majid Javadi in the popular Showtime series Homeland, appearing in 10 episodes. He also played Bonaparte, a villain, in the series Grimm. More recently, he has been seen as Faraz Kamali in the Apple TV+ series Tehran (2020, 2022) and Terence in Snowpiercer (2020-2021).
He has also made guest appearances in many other well-known shows, including Columbo, Matlock, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Married... with Children, ER, Seinfeld, The Sopranos, Malcolm in the Middle, Lost, NCIS, and The Blacklist.
Video Game Roles
Shaun Toub has even lent his voice to video games. He voiced the character Yinsen in the Iron Man video game in 2008, bringing his movie character to life in a new way.
