Shaun Toub (born February 15, 1958) is an American actor. He is known for playing important roles in many movies and TV shows. You might recognize him as Yinsen in the Iron Man movies or as Rahim Khan in The Kite Runner. He has also appeared in popular TV series like Homeland and Tehran.

Early Life and Acting Dreams
Shaun Toub was born in Tehran, Imperial State of Iran, to a family with Iranian Jewish roots. Both of his parents were foot doctors. When he was two years old, his family moved to Manchester, England, so his mother could study podiatry.
He returned to Iran and lived there until he was 13. After that, he moved to Switzerland. Later, he came to Nashua, New Hampshire in the United States to finish high school. Shaun decided he wanted to be an actor when he was just five years old! In 2022, he received the Cinema Sepharad award at the Los Angeles Sephardic Film Festival.
Shaun Toub's Acting Career
Shaun Toub has been in many well-known films and TV shows. He acted in Bad Boys with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. He also appeared in Broken Arrow alongside John Travolta. For HBO, he was in Live from Baghdad.
One of his most praised roles was as Farhad in the Oscar-winning movie Crash. He also played Joaquim, the father of the Virgin Mary, in The Nativity Story. Another memorable role was Rahim Khan in The Kite Runner (2007). In the TV series Grimm, he played a villain named Bonaparte.
