Shenberrow Hill is a well-known hill in the Cotswolds, a beautiful range of hills in Gloucestershire, England. Standing at 304 meters (about 997 feet) tall, it is the third highest point in the county. It's a great spot to explore nature and history!

Where is Shenberrow Hill?

Shenberrow Hill is located on the northwest side of the Cotswolds. It's about 5 kilometers (3 miles) southwest of the village of Broadway. You can also find it about 1.2 kilometers (less than a mile) southwest of the small village called Snowshill.

The very top of the hill is open land. On the hillside to the northwest, about 300 meters from the top, you can find the remains of an Iron Age hillfort. This ancient site is known as Shenberrow Hill Camp. A hillfort was a type of fortified settlement built during the Iron Age, often on top of hills for defense.

There's also a special marker called a trig point on the southern part of the hill. It's at 298 meters high and is about 600 meters from the very top. Trig points are concrete pillars used by surveyors to help map the land.

What's the Landscape Like?

To the west of Shenberrow Hill, the ground slopes steeply downwards. This area has many trees and leads into the Vale of Evesham, a wide, flat valley.

To the east, the ground goes down a little bit before rising again at Oat Hill. Oat Hill is about 272 meters high and is just outside Snowshill. The border between Gloucestershire and Worcestershire counties is about 2 kilometers northeast of Shenberrow Hill.

The actual summit, or highest point, of Shenberrow Hill doesn't have any special features. It's just an open field, offering wide views of the surrounding countryside.
