Sherri Evonne Shepherd (born April 22, 1967) is an American actress, comedian, author, podcaster, and television host. She is known for her funny personality and many roles in TV shows and movies.
Currently, Sherri hosts her own daily talk show called Sherri. Before that, she was a popular co-host on the daytime talk show The View from 2007 to 2014. She even won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2009 for her work on The View.
Sherri has also starred in several sitcoms, which are comedy TV shows. These include The Jamie Foxx Show (1999-2001), Less than Perfect (2002–2006), Sherri (2009), Trial & Error (2017–2018), and Mr. Iglesias (2019–2020). She has also written books and appeared on many other TV programs.

Early Life
Sherri Shepherd was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother was LaVerne and her father was Lawrence A. Shepherd, who was a church deacon. Sherri is the oldest of three sisters in her family.
Acting Career
Sherri Shepherd started her acting career in 1995. Her first TV role was in a sitcom called Cleghorne!. She later became well-known for playing Sheila Yarborough on The Jamie Foxx Show. She also had recurring roles on popular sitcoms like Suddenly Susan and Everybody Loves Raymond.
From 2002 to 2006, Sherri played Ramona Platt in the show Less Than Perfect. She also appeared in the movie Transformers in 2007. From 2007 to 2013, she had a recurring role as Angie, the wife of Tracy Jordan, on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock. In 1998, she even appeared in an episode of Friends.
In 2009, Sherri starred in her own sitcom called Sherri, which was based on her life. Later, in 2013, she appeared on Broadway in the musical Cinderella. From 2017 to 2018, she played Anne Flatch in the comedy series Trial & Error.
Television Host
Sherri Shepherd has been a guest host and contestant on many TV shows. These include Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Rachael Ray. She also co-hosted the 35th Daytime Emmy Awards in 2008.

In 2006, Sherri became a frequent guest co-host on ABC's daytime talk show The View. She became a permanent co-host in 2007, replacing Star Jones. She was a co-host until 2014.
In March 2012, Sherri competed on the 14th season of Dancing with the Stars. Her dance partner was Val Chmerkovskiy, and they finished in tenth place. In 2019, she appeared on The Masked Singer as "Penguin".
From October 2021 to June 2022, Sherri was a recurring guest host on The Wendy Williams Show. This was because the main host, Wendy Williams, was taking time off for health reasons. In February 2022, it was announced that Sherri would host her own new talk show, Sherri. The show premiered on September 12, 2022. It was so popular that it was renewed for its second and third seasons through 2025.
Other Projects
Sherri Shepherd is also an author. She wrote a book called Permission Slips: Every Woman's Guide to Giving Herself a Break, which was published in 2009. She also helped write Plan D: How to Lose Weight and Beat Diabetes in 2013.
Sherri helps raise money for the YAI Sherri Shepherd "Believe in Abilities" Fund. This fund supports people of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. It helps them live full lives by creating new opportunities for them.
In 2009, Sherri appeared on an episode of WWE SmackDown. She was the guest manager for professional wrestler MVP. In 2015, she launched her own line of wigs and hair add-ins.
Personal Life
Sherri Shepherd was married to Jeff Tarpley from 2001 to 2010. They have a son named Jeffrey, who was born in April 2005. Sherri later married Lamar Sally in August 2011. They separated in May 2014. They have a son, Lamar Jr., who was born in August 2014 through surrogacy. Their divorce was finalized in 2015.
Sherri has type 2 diabetes. She used to be a Jehovah's Witness but is now an evangelical Christian.
