Elisabeth DelPadre Hasselbeck (born May 28, 1977) is an American TV personality and talk show host. She first became known in 2001. This was when she was a contestant on the TV show Survivor. She finished in fourth place on the second season, Survivor: The Australian Outback. The next year, she married NFL player Tim Hasselbeck.

From 2003 to 2013, Elisabeth was a co-host on the ABC daytime talk show The View. She was known for her strong opinions on social and political topics. In 2009, she and her co-hosts won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host. After The View, Hasselbeck co-hosted Fox & Friends from 2013 to 2015.

Early Life and School

Elisabeth DelPadre Filarski was born on May 28, 1977. Her hometown is Cranston, Rhode Island. Her father was an architect, and her mother was a teacher and lawyer. Elisabeth grew up in a Catholic family.

She went to St. Mary School in Cranston. Then she attended St. Mary Academy – Bay View. She graduated from high school in 1995. After that, she went to Boston College. There, she was the captain of the women's softball team. Her team won two championships in a row. She studied art and design, earning a degree in 1999. Before her TV career, she worked for Puma shoes. She was part of their design team.

Her Time on Survivor

Competing in The Australian Outback

In 2000, Elisabeth (then Elisabeth Filarski) joined Survivor: The Australian Outback. She was part of the Kucha tribe. She was seen as a "cheerleader" for her tribe. This made many people like her. She formed a close friendship with Rodger Bingham.

Her tribe won many challenges. Later, the Kucha and Ogakor tribes joined together. Elisabeth lasted almost nine hours in one challenge. She was voted out on day 39. She finished in fourth place. At the end, she voted for Tina Wesson to win the season.

After the Show

Elisabeth was asked to return for Survivor: All-Stars. However, she decided not to come back.

Her Career in Television

Elisabeth Hasselbeck was a judge for the Miss Teen USA 2001 pageant. From 2002 to 2003, she hosted The Look for Less. On this show, she helped people find stylish clothes at good prices.

2003–2013: Co-hosting The View

Elisabeth auditioned for The View in 2003. She became a permanent co-host on November 24, 2003. On the show, she often shared her conservative opinions.

She sometimes had strong disagreements with her co-hosts. In 2006, she became very emotional during a discussion. She felt strongly about the topic. After a commercial break, she and Barbara Walters, the show's moderator, made up. In 2007, she had a heated discussion with Rosie O'Donnell. They disagreed about the Iraq War. Elisabeth supported the war, while Rosie opposed it.

In August 2009, Elisabeth and her co-hosts won a Daytime Emmy Award. They won for Outstanding Talk Show Host. This was a big win for The View.

In 2013, there were rumors that Elisabeth would leave the show. However, Barbara Walters said these rumors were false. But on July 9, 2013, it was confirmed that Elisabeth would leave The View. She was moving to Fox & Friends. Her last day on The View was July 10, 2013.

Since leaving, Elisabeth has returned to The View as a guest. She came back in 2014 for Barbara Walters' retirement. She also returned in 2019 and 2020 as a guest co-host. In August 2022, she was a guest co-host again. This was part of the show's 25th anniversary.

2013–2015: Co-hosting Fox & Friends

On September 16, 2013, Elisabeth joined the Fox News morning show, Fox & Friends. She became a co-host there. By November of that year, the show's viewership had grown.

In November 2015, Elisabeth announced she would leave Fox & Friends. She wanted to spend more time with her family. She said she wanted to "give them the best of me, not the rest of me." Her last day on the show was December 22, 2015.

Her Family Life

On July 6, 2002, Elisabeth married her college boyfriend, Tim Hasselbeck. He was a professional football quarterback. They have three children. Their daughter, Grace Elisabeth, was born in 2005. Their sons, Taylor Thomas and Isaiah Timothy, were born in 2007 and 2009.

Elisabeth is a Christian. She is also a Republican. She spoke at the Republican National Conventions in 2004 and 2008. In 2008, she appeared at rallies for vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

She also supports breast cancer awareness. She has made public service announcements about breast cancer diagnosis.

Health and Books

Elisabeth Hasselbeck has celiac disease. This is a condition where eating gluten harms the small intestine. She wrote a book about it called The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide. This book became a best-seller. In 2011, she launched NoGii. This is her own line of gluten-free food products. They are for both children and adults.
