Her Time on Survivor
The Australian Outback Season
In 2001, Elisabeth (then named Elisabeth Filarski) joined Survivor: The Australian Outback. This was the second season of the popular reality show. She was part of the Kucha tribe.
Elisabeth was seen as a "cheerleader" for her tribe. Many people liked her, especially Rodger Bingham, who became a close friend. She avoided being voted off early in the game. Her tribe, Kucha, had a winning streak but lost a challenge on day fifteen. Later, a tribe member had to leave the game because of an injury.
The two tribes, Kucha and Ogakor, then merged into one big group. Elisabeth lasted almost nine hours in an important challenge. She was the last person from her original tribe to be voted out on day 39. She finished in fourth place. At the end, she voted for Tina Wesson, who won the season.
After Survivor
After her season, Elisabeth was asked to return for Survivor: All-Stars. However, she decided not to go back on the show.
Television Journey
Before her big talk show roles, Elisabeth was a judge for the Miss Teen USA 2001 pageant. From 2002 to 2003, she hosted a show called The Look for Less on the Style Network. On this show, she helped people find fashionable clothes at good prices.
Co-Hosting The View
Even though Elisabeth thought she would work "behind the scenes" in TV, her agent encouraged her to try out for The View in 2003. She was one of several women who filled in after a co-host left. On November 24, 2003, she became a permanent co-host.
On The View, Elisabeth often shared conservative opinions. This meant she had traditional views on many topics.
On May 23, 2007, Elisabeth had a strong discussion with co-host Rosie O'Donnell. They disagreed about the war in Iraq. Elisabeth supported the war, while Rosie did not. When Rosie asked a tough question about the war, Elisabeth said she would not defend Rosie's statements. She believed Rosie should explain her own words.

In August 2009, Elisabeth and her co-hosts won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host. This was a big achievement for The View, as they had been nominated many times before without winning.
In March 2013, there were rumors that Elisabeth might leave the show. However, Barbara Walters, one of the show's creators, said these rumors were false. But on July 9, 2013, it was confirmed that Elisabeth would leave The View to join Fox & Friends. Her last day on The View was July 10, 2013.
Since leaving, Elisabeth has returned to The View a few times. She came back in 2014 for Barbara Walters' retirement. She also returned as a guest in 2019 and 2020, and again in August 2022 for the show's 25th anniversary.
