Shrewsbury railway station is a very important train station in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. It's the only one in the whole county town! This station was built a long time ago, in 1848. It's so special that it became a 'Grade II listed building' in 1969. This means it's protected because of its history and architecture.
The station is about 43 miles (69 km) north-west of Birmingham New Street. Many trains from here go towards Wales. This is because the station is managed by Transport for Wales. Other train companies like Avanti West Coast and West Midlands Trains also use this station. It's a key hub for Transport for Wales.
Shrewsbury station is the busiest train station in all of Shropshire. It was also one of the busiest in the wider West Midlands area back in 2014-15.
