Silver Lake is a beautiful body of water in Carroll County, eastern New Hampshire, United States. It covers about 969 acres (3.9 km²) and is located in the town of Madison. The small village of Silver Lake is right at the northern end of the lake.
Water from Silver Lake flows into the West Branch river. This river then travels through the Ossipee Pine Barrens. Finally, it reaches Ossipee Lake and eventually the Saco River in Maine.

You can find several popular beaches around the lake. These include "the foot" of the lake, "Nichols Beach", and "the head of the lake." They are all excellent places to cool off on a hot day.
Famous Visitors to Silver Lake
Silver Lake was a special summer home for a famous poet named E. E. Cummings. His father built two houses on the eastern side of the lake. Later, his family bought a nearby place called Joy Farm. Cummings spent most of his summers there and even his final days.
