Sobrio was once a small town, or municipality, located in the Leventina area of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On April 10, 2016, Sobrio joined with the larger municipality of Faido.

Exploring Sobrio's Land
Sobrio covered an area of about 6.37 square kilometers (2.46 sq mi). Most of this land, about 70%, was covered by forests. About 10% was unproductive, meaning it was too rocky or had plants that weren't useful for farming.
A smaller part, around 10%, was used for farming. This included fields for crops and pastures where animals could graze. Only a small portion, about 3%, was developed with buildings and roads.
