South Shaftsbury is located in the southern part of the town of Shaftsbury. It is the biggest community in the town. The area includes the main village and some rural land stretching east.
Roads and Travel
U.S. Route 7 is a major highway nearby. The closest way to get to South Shaftsbury from US 7 is about 1 mile south. This access point is in northern Bennington.
Vermont Route 7A and Vermont Route 67 meet in the village. Route 7A goes north to towns like Arlington and Manchester. It also goes south into Bennington. Route 67 heads west towards North Bennington and the New York state line.
