Spur is a city located in Dickens County, Texas, United States. In 2020, about 863 people lived there. This was a decrease from 1,318 people in 2010. In 2014, Spur became known as the "nation's first tiny house-friendly town." This means it has special rules that make it easy for people to build and live in very small homes.

History of Spur, Texas
Spur started in 1907. A man named E. P. Swenson and his friends bought a large area of land called Spur Ranch. They divided this land into smaller pieces for people to settle.
Soon after, the Burlington Railroad built a railway. It ran northwest from Stamford to where Spur would be built.
On November 1, 1909, the very first train arrived at the new train station in Spur. This event officially marked the opening of the town. Spur became an official city in 1911.
Geography and Location
Spur is in the southern part of Dickens County. Its exact location is 33°28′40″N 100°51′25″W / 33.47778°N 100.85694°W. Texas State Highway 70 goes right through the city. This highway leads north about 11 miles (18 km) to Dickens, which is the main town of the county. It also goes southeast about 24 miles (39 km) to Jayton.
The city of Spur covers a total area of about 1.6 square miles (4.2 km2). All of this area is land, with no water.

Spur has a semi-arid climate. This means it is usually dry, but not a desert. It gets some rain, but not a lot. This type of climate is often found in areas that are between deserts and more humid places.

- Red McCombs (1927-2023): He was a successful businessman from San Antonio. He owned professional sports teams like the NBA's San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets, and the NFL's Minnesota Vikings. Red was born in Spur and even named the San Antonio Spurs basketball team after his hometown.
- Jesse Powell: He played football for the Miami Dolphins. Jesse graduated from Spur High School.
