Stanmore is a quiet, countryside area located in the City of Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia. It is a rural locality, meaning it's mostly open land with a few homes. In 2021, about 454 people lived there.

Exploring Stanmore's Location
Stanmore is about 70 kilometers (43 miles) north of Brisbane, a big city in Queensland. The Stanley River flows through Stanmore and forms part of its northern edge. A part of the Bellthorpe State Forest is also found in the northern area. The main road, Kilcoy–Beerwah Road, goes right through Stanmore from south to north-east.
A Look at Stanmore's Past
The name Stanmore comes from a large farming property. George Adophus Mason started this property around 1875. He ran it until he passed away in 1936.
A school called Stanmore Provisional School first opened in 1891. It later became Stanmore State School on January 1, 1909. However, the school closed its doors on December 31, 1972. The old school building was located at 491-495 Kilcoy Beerwah Road.
In 1912, parts of the original Stanmore property were divided into smaller pieces and sold to new owners.
