A big part of Bellthorpe is protected as the Bellthorpe National Park, which means it is a special natural area.

Where is Bellthorpe?
Bellthorpe is located in a beautiful natural area. The southern part of Bellthorpe is within the Stanley River area, where water collects. In the north, Kilcoy Creek flows into the Mary River.

There is a small neighbourhood called Bellthorpe West. It is located in the north-west part of Bellthorpe.
A Look Back at Bellthorpe's History
Bellthorpe might have been named after a person named Joshua Thomas Bell. He was an important politician in the Queensland Government. At that time, he was in charge of public lands. The area became available for people to choose and settle on.
Early Schools in Bellthorpe
Bellthorpe once had its own school. Bellthorpe Provisional School first opened on April 22, 1919. It closed in 1922 because not enough students were attending. However, it reopened in 1923 and became Bellthorpe State School in 1927. This school eventually closed in 1969.
Another school, Bellthorpe West Provisional School, opened on March 21, 1955. It became Bellthorpe West State School in 1959. This school also closed in 1969.
