Stanton is a small city located in Stanton County, Nebraska, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,520 people lived there. It is the county seat of Stanton County. This means it is the main city where the county government is located.
Stanton was officially planned and marked out in 1870. Both the city and the county are named after Edwin Stanton. He was an important person who served as the Secretary of War for President Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War.
