Star Island is a special neighborhood in Miami Beach, Florida. It is built on a man-made island in Biscayne Bay. This island is located south of the Venetian Islands. It is also just east of Palm Island and Hibiscus Island.

Building Star Island
Star Island was finished in 1922. The Army Corps of Engineers built it by moving sand from the bottom of the bay. This process is called dredging. The land was first owned by a developer named Carl Fisher. He bought many pieces of land that later became Miami Beach.
Why is it called Star Island?
The name "Star Island" comes from its history. Many famous people and celebrities have owned homes there. This gave the island a "star-studded" reputation.
Getting to Star Island
You can reach Star Island by land. It is connected to other barrier islands by the MacArthur Causeway. This road helps people get to and from the island easily.
