Stein is a town in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. It is part of the Rheinfelden district.
Stein sits right on the Rhine River. Across the river is the German town of Bad Säckingen. Two bridges connect these towns. One is for cars, called the Fridolinsbrücke. The other is a famous wooden bridge just for people, known as the Holzbrücke.
The town also has its own train station, the Stein-Säckingen railway station.

Geography of Stein
Stein covers an area of about 2.81 square kilometers (1.08 square miles). A good portion of this land is used for farming. About 28.5% of Stein's land is farmland. Forests cover about 22.1% of the area.
Most of the town, about 39.1%, is covered by buildings and roads. Rivers and lakes make up about 10.3% of Stein's land.

People of Stein
Stein has a population of about 3,300 people as of 2022. Many people living in Stein come from other countries. About 33.6% of the residents are foreign nationals.

The famous Säckingerbrücke, which is a wooden bridge, is a very important historical site. It is recognized as a Swiss heritage site of national importance.
