Stevan Jovetić (born November 2, 1989) is a professional footballer from Montenegro. He plays as a striker for Omonia and is the captain of the Montenegro national team. Many people think he is one of the best Montenegrin footballers ever.
Jovetić usually plays as a second striker. He can also play as an attacking midfielder or a winger. He is known for his amazing dribbling skills, great technique, and creative play. His style of playing has been compared to the famous footballer Roberto Baggio.
Stevan started his career at FK Partizan in Serbia. There, he won both the league and the cup in 2008. After that, he moved to ACF Fiorentina in Italy. He played five seasons for Fiorentina, scoring 40 goals in 134 matches. Then, he joined Manchester City in England. In his first year in England, he helped Manchester City win the League Cup and the Premier League.
Later, he went back to Italy to play for Inter Milan in 2015. He also played on loan for Sevilla in Spain in 2017. After that, he joined Ligue 1 club Monaco in France.
Jovetić plays for the Montenegro national team. He also played for their under-21 team before. He played his first senior international game in 2007. This was Montenegro's first international football match as an independent country. With 37 goals, he is Montenegro's all-time top goalscorer.
Stevan Jovetić is one of only a few footballers to score at least one goal in all of the "Big Five" leagues in Europe. These are the top leagues in England, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France. He is also known for his fair play, as he has never received a straight red card in a game.

Club Journey
Stevan Jovetić started his football journey at Mladost Podgorica. He played there until 2004. Then, he joined FK Partizan in Serbia.
Playing for Partizan
On April 9, 2006, when he was just 16 years old, Jovetić played his first senior game for FK Partizan. This was a league match against FK Voždovac.
He scored three goals in a UEFA Cup qualifying game against Zrinjski on August 2, 2007. Partizan won 5–0, and it was his first hat-trick at only 17 years old. In January 2008, he became Partizan's team captain. He was only 17 years, 10 months, and 21 days old. This made him Partizan's youngest captain ever.
Playing for Fiorentina
On May 10, 2008, the Italian club Fiorentina signed him. He scored his first goal for Fiorentina from a penalty kick on April 5, 2009.
He started the 2009–10 season by scoring a goal against Sporting Clube de Portugal. This goal helped Fiorentina get into the Champions League group stages. On September 29, 2009, he scored two goals in a 2–0 win against Liverpool in the Champions League. On March 9, 2010, Jovetić scored two more goals in Fiorentina's 3–2 win over Bayern Munich.
During pre-season training for the 2010–11 season, he got a serious knee injury. This meant he could not play for the whole season.
Jovetić came back strong from his injury in the 2011–12 season. He scored two goals in a 3–0 win against Parma. This was his first goal in over a year. On October 15, 2011, Jovetić signed a new contract with Fiorentina until 2016. He scored 14 goals in 27 league games for Fiorentina that season.
On February 17, 2013, Jovetić scored two goals as Fiorentina beat Inter 4–1.
Playing for Manchester City
On July 19, 2013, Stevan joined Premier League club Manchester City. He chose to wear the number 35 shirt, which he also wore at Partizan. He joined his friend and former teammate, Matija Nastasić, at the club. He played his first game for Manchester City on September 14, in a 0–0 draw against Stoke City. He scored his first goals for the club on September 24, in a 5–0 win against Wigan Athletic in the League Cup.
On January 29, 2014, Jovetić scored his first Premier League goal in a 5–1 win against Tottenham Hotspur. On May 7, 2014, he scored his first league goal at Manchester City's home stadium. He played in 13 league games that season and helped Manchester City win the Premier League title.
In February 2015, he was removed from Manchester City's UEFA Champions League squad. This was due to rules from UEFA. Jovetić was upset by this decision.
Playing for Internazionale
In the summer of 2015, he went back to Italy to play for Inter Milan. He joined them on an 18-month loan. In his first two games, he scored three goals, and Inter won both matches.
He officially joined Inter Milan in July 2016. For the 2016–17 season, he was not included in the squad for the Europa League. He played in 5 games for Inter that season.
Loan to Sevilla
On January 10, 2017, he joined Spanish team Sevilla on loan until the end of the season. He played his first game for Sevilla on January 12. He scored a goal in a 3–3 draw against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey. He scored against Real Madrid again three days later in a league game. His goal in stoppage time helped Sevilla win and ended Real Madrid's 40-game unbeaten run.
Playing for AS Monaco
On August 29, 2017, Monaco in France announced that they had signed Jovetić. He signed a four-year contract. After Kylian Mbappé left, Jovetić was given the number 10 shirt. In his first season with Monaco, he scored 10 goals in 21 matches. Between February 10 and March 16, 2018, he scored in five games in a row.
Playing for Hertha BSC
On July 27, 2021, Jovetić signed a two-year contract with Hertha BSC in Germany. By doing this, he became one of only three players in history to play in all five of Europe's top leagues. These are the leagues in Germany, Spain, Italy, England, and France. When he scored against 1. FC Köln on August 14, 2021, he became the second player ever to score at least one league goal in all of Europe's top five leagues.
Playing for Olympiacos
On September 4, 2023, the Greek club Olympiacos announced that they had signed Jovetić. He reportedly signed a one-year contract. Jovetić played his first game for Olympiacos in a league match against AEK Athens. The game ended in a 1–1 draw. With Olympiacos, he won the 2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League. This was his first European title. He came on as a substitute in the final, where Olympiacos beat his former club Fiorentina 1–0 after extra time on May 29, 2024.
Playing for Omonia
On September 30, 2024, Jovetić joined Cypriot First Division club Omonia FC. He joined them as a free agent, meaning he was not under contract with any other team.
International Career
Playing for Montenegro
Jovetić was one of the first players for the Montenegro national team. They played their first game against Hungary in March 2007. Jovetić also regularly played for the Montenegro U-21 team.
He scored his first goals for his country against Hungary on August 20, 2008. He scored two goals in a 3–3 friendly draw. On February 29, 2012, he scored two more goals in his first match as captain. Montenegro won that friendly game against Iceland 2–1.
On October 15, 2013, Jovetić scored two goals in a World Cup qualifier against Moldova. On November 14, 2014, he scored a penalty to help Montenegro draw 1–1 against Sweden in a Euro 2016 qualifying match.

Stevan Jovetić is a fast, strong, and flexible player. He can play anywhere in the attack. He has played as a main striker, a winger, or an attacking midfielder. This is because he is good at connecting with midfielders and can either score goals or help create them. He is a creative and skilled striker. He is also known for his dribbling skills, quick movements, and speed with the ball. He can make good runs towards the goal and shoot well with both feet. Even though he is very talented, he has often had injuries that kept him from playing.
Personal Life
When he was 13, Stevan moved from his hometown of Podgorica to Belgrade. He went there to play for FK Partizan's youth team. He lived in Belgrade for four and a half years. Then, in May 2008, he was signed by Fiorentina. He lived in Florence for five years until 2013, when he joined Manchester City.
His nickname in Montenegro is "Joveta." Fiorentina fans gave him the nickname "Jo-Jo." His football heroes are Mirko Vučinić, a forward from Montenegro, and Andriy Shevchenko. Jovetić used to pretend to be Shevchenko when he was a child.
He enjoys playing PlayStation, often with his friend and former teammate Matija Nastasić. He has many tattoos on his left arm. He has never consumed alcohol. His favorite football team is FK Partizan. Jovetić is an Eastern Orthodox Christian.
