Kylian Mbappé Lottin (born 20 December 1998) is a French professional footballer. He plays as a forward for the club Real Madrid. He also captains the France national team. Many people think he is one of the best players in the world. He is known for his amazing dribbling, powerful finishing, and incredible speed.

Kylian was born in Paris and grew up in Bondy. He started his senior club career in 2015 with Monaco. There, he helped them win the Ligue 1 title in the 2016–17 season. In 2017, when he was just 18, Mbappé joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). This was a huge transfer worth €180 million. It made him the second-most expensive player ever and the most expensive teenage player.

With PSG, he won six Ligue 1 titles and four Coupes de France. He also led the club to their first ever UEFA Champions League final in 2020. He is PSG's all-time top goalscorer. In 2024, Mbappé moved to Real Madrid.

For his country, Mbappé first played for France in 2017 at age 18. At the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he became the youngest French player to score in a World Cup. He was also the second teenager, after Pelé, to score in a World Cup final. France won the tournament, and he received the Best Young Player Award. He also helped France win the UEFA Nations League in 2021. At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, France reached the final again. Mbappé won the Golden Boot for scoring the most goals. He also scored a hat-trick in the final, setting a new record.

His favorite team has always been Real Madrid.

In July 2013, at age 14, Mbappé joined the youth academy of Monaco. He signed a three-year contract. Monaco beat out other top clubs, including Real Madrid, to get him.

Kylian Mbappe 2017
Mbappé's explosive movement is often highlighted as one of his most important assets

Mbappé is a very flexible forward. He can play as a winger on either side because he is good with both feet. He can cut inside from the left wing to shoot with his stronger right foot. From the right, he can create chances and pass to teammates. He can also play in the center as a main striker. He is calm when shooting and has a great eye for goal.

Mbappé is known for his amazing dribbling skills. He has explosive speed, quick feet, and a great first touch. He uses clever moves, like step overs, or sudden changes in speed to get past defenders. He is very good at controlling the ball while running fast. He also makes smart runs into open spaces, making him dangerous on counter-attacks.

Many people have compared Mbappé to football legends. Arsène Wenger said he has "similar qualities" to Thierry Henry. His performances at the 2018 World Cup led to comparisons with Pelé. Former player Nicolas Anelka said Mbappé's ability to run at defenses reminded him of Ronaldo Nazario.

Life Outside Football

His famous goal celebration (arms folded, hands tucked under armpits) was inspired by his younger brother Ethan. Mbappé was the cover star of FIFA 21, making him the youngest to appear on the cover alone.

In 2023, Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world. He was also ranked third on the Forbes list of the world's highest-paid athletes.
