Stover is a city located in Morgan County, Missouri, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,006 people lived there. This was a small decrease from 1,094 people in 2010.

History of Stover
A post office has been open in Stover since 1875. The community is named after John Hubler Stover. He was a congressman from Missouri. A congressman is a person who is elected to represent people in the U.S. government.
Stover was first set up in its current spot in 1905. This happened when the railroad lines were built to reach that area. Before 1905, the city was a little to the southeast. When the St. Louis-Kansas City Colorado Railroad decided to go around the old village, people started moving their businesses. By 1905, all the businesses had moved to the new location.
Geography of Stover
Stover is in the western part of Morgan County. It is located where two main roads meet: Missouri Route 52 and Missouri Route 135.
Versailles is about 8 miles (13 km) to the east. Versailles is the county seat for Morgan County. A county seat is the main town where the county government is located. Cole Camp is about 12 miles (19 km) to the west. It is in the next county over, Benton County.
Stover covers an area of about 0.89 square miles (2.3 square kilometers). All of this area is land. Water from the city flows into different creeks. These creeks eventually join the Lamine River, which then flows into the Missouri River.
