Streamwood is a village located in Cook County, Illinois, in the United States. In 2020, about 39,577 people lived there. It's a suburb northwest of Chicago, and it's part of the larger Chicago metropolitan area.
Streamwood is one of three towns known as the "Tri Village" area. The other two are Bartlett and Hanover Park. Streamwood officially became a village on February 9, 1957.

Train Service
The Bartlett station is nearby in Bartlett. It offers Metra commuter rail service on the Milwaukee District West Line. Trains go east to Chicago Union Station and west to Big Timber Road station.

Pace provides bus service on Route 554. This bus connects Streamwood directly to Schaumburg and other places.
The Streamwood Stride Race
The Streamwood Stride is a popular running event held in Streamwood. It takes place every year on the second weekend of June.
In 2010, it was the 12th time the race was held. It included different events for all ages and skill levels:
- A 5k (about 3.1 miles) run/walk.
- A 10k (about 6.2 miles) run.
- Kiddie races of 50 meters and 100 meters for younger children.
- The "double derby," which combined the Streamwood Stride with the Bartlett Blossom Run.
- A 1-mile (1.6 km) fun run.
