Super Mario Maker is a fun video game where you can create your very own Super Mario levels! It's a side-scrolling video game that lets you design and play courses, just like the ones you've seen Mario run through. Nintendo developed and published this game for the Wii U console.
The game first came out in Japan on September 10, 2015. Soon after, it was released in North America and Europe on September 11, 2015, and in Australia on September 12, 2015. Players loved Super Mario Maker because it was easy to use and had great tools for making levels.

Create Your Own Mario Worlds
In Super Mario Maker, you become the game designer! You can build unique levels using elements from four classic Super Mario games:
This means you can mix and match different enemies, power-ups, blocks, and challenges from these games. Imagine putting a Goomba from Super Mario Bros. next to a Yoshi from Super Mario World!
Once you've created a level, you can play it yourself to see if it works. But the best part is sharing your creations with other players around the world! You can upload your custom courses online for everyone to try.
You can also download and play levels that other people have designed. This means there are always new and exciting challenges to discover. By May 2016, players had created over seven million courses! These levels had been played more than 600 million times, showing how popular the game became.
Super Mario Maker on Other Systems
A special version of the game, called Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, was released for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system. It came out on December 1, 2016. This allowed even more players to enjoy creating and playing Mario levels on the go.
Later, a sequel to the game was announced. Super Mario Maker 2 was released for the Nintendo Switch on June 28, 2019. It brought even more tools and features for level creation.
