History of TAFE SA
TAFE SA became its own special organization on 1 November 2012. This meant it was no longer directly part of a government department. This change helped TAFE SA focus even more on providing great training.
In 2017, there was a check of some TAFE SA courses. A few small things needed to be updated in how they checked student work. About 630 students were affected, but TAFE SA worked with each student to fix any issues. The government also made sure that these students didn't have to pay any extra money because of these changes.
What TAFE SA Does
The name TAFE stands for Technical and Further Education. This name is used all over Australia for schools that offer job-focused training.
TAFE SA is a "registered training organisation" (RTO). This means it's officially approved to teach and give out qualifications. It's also an "Institute of Higher Education," which means it can offer higher-level courses, like bachelor's degrees.
TAFE SA is the biggest provider of job training in South Australia. It offers training for many different jobs, from entry-level courses to advanced degrees. In 2024, TAFE SA was approved to continue its training for another seven years. This is the longest approval period they have ever received!
