What is Taranganba Like?
Taranganba sits on a low hill, offering cool views of Keppel Bay, Cooee Bay, and Yeppoon. It's right in the middle of the Capricorn Coast.
The town is about 3 kilometers (2 miles) south of Yeppoon. It's also about 16 kilometers (10 miles) north of Emu Park.
Many people think of Taranganba as a part of Yeppoon. A creek called Ross Creek separates Taranganba from Yeppoon.
The main road, the Scenic Highway (State Route 4), runs along the eastern side of Taranganba.
Most of the homes in Taranganba were built after the 1970s. Cedar Park is the main shopping area here. It's the last big shopping spot you'll find when driving from Yeppoon towards Emu Park.
A Look at Taranganba's History
Taranganba State School first opened its doors on February 1, 1993.
Before 2008, Taranganba was part of the Shire of Livingstone. Then, from 2008 to 2013, it became part of the Rockhampton Region. The Shire of Livingstone was created again in 2014.

Taranganba State School is a government primary school for students from Prep to Year 6. It's located on Taranganba Road.
In 2018, the school had about 694 students. It also has a special program for students who need extra support.
There are no high schools directly in Taranganba. The closest government high school is Yeppoon State High School, which is in nearby Yeppoon.
