Lammermoor is a lovely coastal town in Queensland, Australia. It's part of the beautiful Capricorn Coast in the Livingstone Shire. In 2021, about 2,551 people called Lammermoor home. It's a great place to live by the sea!
Exploring Lammermoor's Location
Lammermoor sits right next to the Coral Sea, looking out over Keppel Bay. It's a fantastic spot on the Capricorn Coast. You can find it about 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) south-east of Yeppoon. It's also 17.2 kilometers (10.7 miles) north-north-west of Emu Park by road.
The town actually stretches out into the ocean for more than 5 kilometers (3 miles)! Lammermoor Beach is a long, sandy beach perfect for a walk. You can also spot Statue Rock and Statue Bay offshore at the southern end of the beach.
The Scenic Highway is the main road that runs right by Lammermoor Beach. It's a popular drive for both locals and visitors. Lammermoor is a growing community. Many people who live here work in Rockhampton City. They enjoy living by the coast.
A Look at Lammermoor's Past
Lammermoor is part of the traditional lands of the Darumbal people. They have lived here for a very long time.
Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School opened its doors in 1958. It has been teaching children for many years.
For a while, Lammermoor was part of the Rockhampton Region. But in 2014, the Shire of Livingstone was re-established. Now, the Livingstone Shire Council looks after Lammermoor again.
