History of TAG Group
TAG Group was started in 1977 by a Syrian businessman named Akram Ojjeh. After he passed away, his son, Mansour Ojjeh, became the leader of the company.
One of TAG's first big projects was in 1977. They worked with the Saudi Government on airports in Saudi Arabia. For a few years, a large Boeing 707 airplane, which helped transport people and materials for these projects, even had the TAG logo on its tail!
In 1985, TAG Group bought a Swiss company that made watches, called Heuer. TAG Group then combined the names to create the famous TAG Heuer brand. Under TAG Group's ownership, TAG Heuer updated its watches and sold many more around the world. Later, in 1999, a company called LVMH bought TAG Heuer for a lot of money.
Today, TAG Group mainly focuses on its shares in TAG Aviation and McLaren Group.
What TAG Group Does
TAG Group is involved in several exciting industries.
Aviation Business

TAG Aeronautics used to be the company that sold Bombardier airplanes in the Middle East until 2016. Now, TAG Aviation SA sells HondaJet business jets in Northern Europe.
Based in Geneva, Switzerland, TAG Aviation offers many services for private jets. They manage aircraft, arrange charter flights, and handle maintenance and sales. TAG Aviation USA, Inc. is their American branch, located in San Francisco. They work with AMI Jet Charter to operate flights in the US. In 2007, AMI Jet Charter had some issues with its operating license, so now TAG in the US mainly helps people find and book private jets.
TAG Aviation has a fleet of 16 aircraft. This includes several Gulfstream jets like the G650ER and G600, as well as Dassault Falcon 6X and 7X jets. They also have a Pilatus PC-24 and two Embraer Phenom 300E jets, which you can charter for flights from Zurich and Geneva. To manage all these planes, they started using special software called Leon Software in 2023.
TAG Farnborough Airport Ltd. is another part of TAG Aviation. This company owns Farnborough Airport, which is southwest of London in the United Kingdom. TAG bought the airport in 2007 from the UK Ministry of Defence.

In 1983, Mansour Ojjeh met with McLaren team boss Ron Dennis. Instead of just sponsoring McLaren, Ojjeh was offered the chance to own part of the team. This means TAG also has a share in McLaren's other famous companies, like McLaren Racing (the F1 team) and McLaren Automotive (which makes supercars).
