Theodore A. Wright (born September 20, 1901 – died February 15, 1974) was a famous American coach. He coached American football, basketball, and track and field. He also helped manage sports programs at colleges. Wright was the head football coach at Florida A&M University and Savannah State University. He also led the basketball teams at Xavier University of Louisiana and Savannah State.

Early Life and College Sports
Theodore A. Wright was born in Baldwin City, Kansas. He loved sports from a young age. He went to Baker University and graduated in 1925.
Playing Days at Baker
At Baker University, Wright was a talented athlete. He played three different sports:
- Football
- Basketball
- Tennis
He was especially good at football, playing as a halfback. He even earned "all-Kansas" honors, meaning he was one of the best players in the state.
Coaching Career Begins
After college, Wright started his career as a coach. He worked with many different teams and helped young athletes grow.
First Coaching Jobs
In 1926, Wright coached at Western University in Kansas City, Missouri. The next year, he became the director of physical education at Lincoln High School in Kansas City. At Lincoln High, he led both the football and basketball teams to win championships. This showed he was a great leader and coach right from the start.
College Coaching Roles
In 1928, Wright moved to Talladega, Alabama, to become an assistant football coach at Talladega College. He quickly proved himself and was promoted to head football coach the very next year. He then went on to coach at other important colleges:
