College Basketball Career
Terry Mills had a great high school career at Romulus High School. In 1986, he was named Mr. Basketball of Michigan. This award goes to the best high school basketball player in Michigan.
Mills then went to the University of Michigan. There, he helped the Wolverines win the 1989 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. This is a huge tournament for college basketball teams.

Playing in the NBA
Terry Mills was chosen in the 1990 NBA Draft. The Milwaukee Bucks picked him first. Later, they traded his rights to the Denver Nuggets. He played 17 games for the Nuggets.
Mills also played for several other NBA teams:
Even though he played as a power forward, Terry became well-known for his amazing 3-point shots. George Blaha, a famous announcer for the Pistons, gave him two nicknames. He called him "Sugar Bear" because of his "sweet" (meaning smooth and accurate) shooting. He also called him "Three Mills" because he was so good at making three-point shots.
Coaching and Personal Life
Terry Mills was the head coach for a team called the Macomb County Mustangs. They played in the International Basketball League during the 2006 season.
Terry has a family connection to other NBA players. He is the cousin of former NBA power forward Grant Long. He is also the nephew of shooting guard John Long.
Today, Terry is a radio analyst for University of Michigan Basketball games. He helps explain the game on the Michigan Sports Marketing Network. He lives in Michigan and enjoys drag racing as a hobby.
