Tessier Lake is a freshwater lake located in Quebec, Canada. It's found in the town of La Tuque, which is in the Mauricie region. This lake is on the south side of the big Gouin Reservoir.
The lake stretches across two areas called Faucher and Achintre. People mostly use the area around Tessier Lake for fun activities like tourism. Forestry, which is about managing forests, is also important here.
A forest road, R1009, runs near the lake. This road helps people get to different parts of the area, including the northern part of Tessier Lake.
Usually, Tessier Lake is frozen from mid-November until the end of April. It's generally safe to walk or travel on the ice from early December to the end of March.
About Tessier Lake
Tessier Lake is quite long, stretching for about 18.4 kilometres (11.4 mi) from north to south. It's also fairly narrow. The southwestern part of Tessier Lake connects to Tourigny Lake through a small, narrow passage.
The main river that flows into Tessier Lake is the Faucher River. It enters the lake on the west side, into a bay that is about 2.9 kilometres (1.8 mi) long. This bay has a peninsula on its west side.
Where the Water Goes
The water from Tessier Lake flows out to the northeast. It travels about 9.8 kilometres (6.1 mi) through the Tessier Lake outlet, passing through Arcand Lake. Then, it continues for about 7.7 kilometres (4.8 mi) more, going through part of Kaotoskonakamak Lake.
After that, the water flows into Saraana Bay, then into Du Mâle Lake, and finally into the large Gouin Reservoir. From the Gouin Reservoir, the water eventually reaches the Saint-Maurice River. The Saint-Maurice River then flows all the way to Trois-Rivières, where it joins the Saint Lawrence River.
