Tieton is a small city located in Yakima County, Washington, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,389 people lived there.
For some years, Tieton faced economic challenges as its fruit warehouses became less active. Since 2007, a lawyer from Seattle and the founder of an art publishing company have been investing in the city. They started a project called "Mighty Tieton" to help the city grow and become lively again.

Tieton became an official city on June 5, 1942. The city's name comes from the Tieton River. The word "Tieton" means "roaring water."

Tieton is found near where the Tieton River meets the Naches River.
