Timothy John Green (born December 16, 1963) is an American who has done many amazing things! He was a professional football player, a lawyer, a radio and TV host, and a best-selling author. He played as a linebacker and defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL). Tim also worked as a commentator for National Public Radio and hosted the TV show A Current Affair. In 2018, Tim shared that he was diagnosed with ALS, a condition that affects how the body moves.

Football and TV Career
Tim Green finished high school at Liverpool High School in 1982. He then went to Syracuse University, where he studied very hard. He graduated with top honors in 1986. Later, he also earned a law degree from Syracuse University in 1994. He was recognized twice as an Academic All-American for his excellent grades while playing sports.
In the 1986 NFL draft, Tim was a top pick, chosen 17th overall by the Atlanta Falcons. He played for the Falcons for eight seasons, until 1993. After his football career, Tim started working in broadcasting. He was a commentator for NFL on Fox and BattleBots on Comedy Central. He also worked for NPR. Later, he hosted the TV show A Current Affair in 2005. In 2009, he hosted the American version of Find My Family.
In 2011, Tim won the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award. This award is given to former college athletes who have achieved great success 25 years after graduating.
Becoming a Best-Selling Author
After retiring from football, Tim Green started writing books. He has written almost 40 novels! These books include suspense stories for adults and many popular youth sports books. His youth sports series became very famous. Many of his books have appeared on The New York Times best-seller list for children's books. He is also part of the National Writer's Project Writing Council.
Tim Green's Legal Work
Tim Green also has a career as a lawyer. Since 1999, he has worked with the law firm Barclay Damon LLP in New York State. He helps the firm with energy and intellectual property cases.

He was featured on the TV show 60 Minutes and on the NFL on Fox's Thanksgiving broadcast in November 2018. He talked about his life and his journey with ALS.
After his diagnosis, Tim started a campaign called TackleALS. This campaign raises money for ALS research at Massachusetts General Hospital. Through TackleALS, Tim has raised over $9.2 million. This money helps support important research and clinical trials, giving hope to many families affected by ALS. His strong dedication to finding a cure has made a huge difference.
