The Tisza River is one of the most important rivers in Central Europe. It's like a long, winding water highway! This river starts high up in the mountains of Ukraine. It has two main starting points: the White Tisza and the Black Tisza.
The White Tisza begins in the Chornohora mountains. The Black Tisza starts in the Gorgany range. After starting in Ukraine, the Tisza flows partly along the border with Romania. Then, it enters Hungary near a town called Tiszabecs.
As it continues its journey, the Tisza flows through Hungary. It even touches the border with Slovakia for a bit. Finally, this mighty river flows into the Danube River in central Vojvodina, which is a part of Serbia. The Tisza River collects water from a very large area. This area, called its watershed, covers about 157,186 square kilometers.
