Early Life and Music Journey
Tokio Myers was born in London, England. He started his life as Torville Ashburn M. Jones. When he was 11, something very sad happened at his school. His music teacher quickly helped him get to safety inside the building during a difficult and scary event. This experience showed him how important music and his teachers were. Later, he earned a special scholarship to study music at the famous Royal College of Music.
Tokio's Amazing Career
Tokio Myers has played with many famous artists. He toured with Mr Hudson's band, supporting big names like Kanye West, The Police, and Amy Winehouse. He also joined Lianne La Havas on her European tour in 2016.
Tokio is special because he mixes different kinds of music. He uses synthesizers (electronic keyboards that make many sounds) and a sample pad (a device to play recorded sounds). This lets him blend classical music with dance and pop styles.
In June 2017, Tokio helped create a special song called "Bridge over Troubled Water". This song was made to raise money for people affected by the Grenfell Tower fire. This was a big fire that happened in North Kensington on 14 June 2017.
On 13 October 2017, he released his first official song, "Bloodstream". This was a studio version of the amazing performance he gave on Britain's Got Talent. It was also the first song from his debut album, Our Generation, which came out in November 2017.
Tokio also performed on other TV shows. On 5 November 2017, he was a guest on The X Factor, playing his song "Angel". He came back for the final to perform with Kevin Davy White.
In 2019, Tokio competed on America's Got Talent: The Champions. He played a mix of classical music ("Clair de lune") and a pop song ("Bloodstream") using both piano and drums. Later that year, on 11 September 2019, he returned to America's Got Talent as a guest. He performed "Safe and Sound" with Stewart Copeland and singer Grace Davies.
