In early 2007, the group toured with Amy Winehouse. This was to support their first album, A Tale of Two Cities. Mr Hudson first appeared on the TV show Later with Jools Holland in December 2006.

The band's first album used acoustic guitar, piano, and backing vocals. It also featured bass guitar, steelpan, and electric drums. Some songs on the album were covers, like "On the Street Where You Live" from the musical My Fair Lady.
