Tomáš Necid, born on August 13, 1989, is a professional football player from the Czech Republic. He plays as a striker, which means he is usually focused on scoring goals for his team. Currently, he plays for Slavia Prague B.

Tomáš Necid's Football Journey
Starting His Career
Tomáš Necid began his football journey in 1994. He played for youth teams like TJ Sokol Stodůlky and Slavia Prague. He joined Slavia Prague's main team in 2006.
In the 2007–08 season, after a loan to Jablonec, Necid scored a goal for Slavia Prague. His team, Slavia Prague, won the 2007–08 Czech First League that year. In 2008, he was named the "Talent of the Year" at the Czech Footballer of the Year awards. Before leaving Slavia, he was the top scorer in the 2008–09 Czech First League with 11 goals in 16 games.
Playing for CSKA Moscow
In August 2008, a big Russian club called CSKA Moscow signed Necid. He stayed with Slavia Prague until the end of 2008. Then, he joined CSKA Moscow in January 2009.
During his time at CSKA Moscow, Necid also went on loan to other teams. In January 2014, he returned to Slavia Prague for a short loan. Later in August 2014, he was loaned to a Dutch team, PEC Zwolle.
Playing in the Netherlands and Turkey
In 2015, Necid officially joined PEC Zwolle as a free player. He signed a contract to play for them until the end of the 2014–15 season.
On July 2, 2015, Necid moved to Turkey. He signed a four-year contract with Bursaspor, a club in the Turkish Süper Lig. He was brought in to be a key goal scorer for the team.
In January 2017, Necid went on loan to Legia Warsaw in Poland. In September 2017, he returned to Slavia Prague for another loan spell. He left Slavia after this loan ended.
Later Career Teams
On August 28, 2018, Necid joined the Dutch team ADO Den Haag. He signed a two-year contract with them.
In October 2020, Necid joined Bohemians 1905 as a free player. He signed a contract to play for them until the end of the season.
In June 2024, Necid joined Viktoria Žižkov, a club in the Czech National Football League. He had a great season, scoring 13 goals in 16 games before the mid-season break. He was named the second league's Player of the Season in May 2025. Necid also finished the season as the league's top goalscorer with 17 goals.
Tomáš Necid's International Career
Playing for Youth Teams
Tomáš Necid played for the Czech Republic's youth national teams. He was part of the team that won a silver medal at the 2006 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship. He also helped his nation reach the semi-finals of the 2008 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship. In both tournaments, he was the top scorer.
He scored 7 goals in 8 matches for the Under-16 team. For the Under-17 team, he scored 11 goals in 18 matches. He also played for the Under-19 team, scoring 14 goals in 20 games. He made one appearance for the Under-21 team.
Playing for the Senior National Team
Necid's first game for the senior Czech Republic national team was on November 19, 2008. It was a qualification match against San Marino. The Czech national football team won 3–0, and Necid scored the third goal. In that game, he became the youngest Czech Republic player to play in a major tournament qualifier. He was also the youngest Czech to score a goal in a competitive match.
He scored two more goals in the World Cup qualification games. These goals helped the Czech team win 7–0 against San Marino and 2–0 against Poland. He finished the qualification with three goals in total.
