Tomáš Necid's Club Career

Starting His Football Journey

Tomáš Necid played his first game for the main team of Slavia Prague in September 2006. He was only 17 years old then. Just one month later, he scored his first goal in a league game.

Playing for Jablonec (on loan)

During the 2007–08 season, Necid played his first game in the UEFA Champions League. However, he was then loaned to FK Jablonec for the second part of the season. Even though he only played 14 games, he was Jablonec's top scorer with five goals. When Necid joined FK Jablonec, the team was near the bottom of the league. But with his help, they finished in 12th place and avoided moving down to a lower league. Necid was seen as one of the team's heroes. After his loan, he returned to Slavia Prague.

When he came back to Slavia, he scored a goal in his very first game against Liberec. Slavia Prague went on to win the 2007–08 Czech First League that season. In 2008, Tomáš won the "Talent of the Year" award at the Czech Footballer of the Year ceremony. In the 2008–09 Czech First League, he played 16 games and scored 11 goals before he left the team.

Joining CSKA Moscow

In August 2008, CSKA Moscow signed a deal with Slavia Prague to get Necid. He stayed with Slavia until the end of 2008 and then joined CSKA in January 2009. He played his first official game for CSKA Moscow on March 7, 2009, in the 2009 Russian Super Cup. He came into the game late and scored the winning goal for his team in extra time.

In June 2011, Necid had a serious knee injury. He needed two operations and was unable to play for almost two years, until April 2013.

Playing for Other Teams (on loan)

To get more playing time after his injury, Necid joined PAOK for the 2013–14 season. On January 6, 2014, Slavia Prague announced that Necid would return to them on loan until the end of the 2013–14 season. In August 2014, he was loaned again, this time to the Dutch team PEC Zwolle. His loan there ended in January 2015, and he went back to CSKA Moscow. After that, Necid ended his contract with CSKA on February 2, 2015.

Playing in the Netherlands and Turkey

Necid returned to PEC Zwolle in February 2015 as a free agent. He signed a contract to play for them until the end of the 2014–15 season. On July 2, 2015, Necid signed a four-year contract with the Turkish team Bursaspor. He joined the club to help them score goals, taking over from their previous top scorer.

More Loan Spells

On January 30, 2017, Necid was loaned to Legia Warsaw for half a year. On September 1, 2017, he went back to Slavia Prague on a loan deal for the whole season. On May 9, 2018, he played in the 2017–18 Czech Cup final, where Slavia Prague won against FK Jablonec. He left Slavia after his loan ended.

Joining ADO Den Haag

On August 28, 2018, Necid joined the Dutch team ADO Den Haag. He signed a two-year contract after his contract with Bursaspor ended.

Playing for Bohemians 1905

On October 12, 2020, Necid joined Bohemians 1905 as a free agent. He signed a contract to play for them until the end of that season.

Moving to Viktoria Žižkov

In June 2024, Necid joined another team in the Czech National Football League, Viktoria Žižkov. He joined them as a free agent.

Tomáš Necid's International Career

Playing for Youth Teams

Tomáš was a top scorer at the 2006 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship. He scored five goals in five games, and the Czech Republic team won a silver medal.

He also became the top scorer of the 2008 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship. He scored four goals in four games at that tournament. The Czech Republic team reached the semi-finals.

Playing for the Senior National Team

His first game for the senior national team was on November 19, 2008. It was a qualification match against San Marino. The Czech national football team won 3–0, and Necid scored the third goal. After that, Necid scored three more goals in World Cup qualification games. He scored his fifth goal in a 4–2 win against the US in a friendly game on May 25, 2010.
