Tre Herndon's Early Life and School Years
Tre Herndon grew up in Ooltewah, Tennessee, near Chattanooga. He went to East Hamilton High School there. Tre was a talented football player in high school. In 2013, he decided to play college football at Vanderbilt University. This was a big deal because he was the first football player from his high school to get a scholarship from a Southeastern Conference (SEC) school.
College Football Career at Vanderbilt
Tre played football for the Vanderbilt Commodores from 2014 to 2017. During his time in college, he showed great skill on the field. He made 122 tackles, which means he stopped the opposing team's players many times. He also had two interceptions, where he caught the ball thrown by the other team's quarterback. Tre also broke up 20 passes and forced one fumble. After his senior year in 2017, he was ready to try for the NFL.
Becoming a Professional Football Player
After college, Tre Herndon hoped to join an NFL team. He participated in a "Pro Day" at Vanderbilt. This is like a tryout where NFL teams watch players perform different drills. Tre showed his speed and strength, which helped him get noticed.
