He has won many awards for his work. These include six state Nandi Awards for writing the best dialogues and two Filmfare Awards South for being the best director. In 2015, he also received the BN Reddy National Award for his great contributions to Indian movies.
Trivikram was a top student in college, even earning a gold medal in nuclear physics. He never planned to work in movies at first. But he loved film and Telugu literature (books and stories). This love led him to become a screenwriter, writing movie scripts. Later, he started directing films too.
His movies are special because of their smart and funny dialogues. They often have lots of humor and quick, clever conversations. His films also mix action with references to old stories and myths. They often show the importance of women and explore different kinds of relationships. Some of his movies even include ideas from Hindu philosophy.
In 2000, Trivikram wrote the dialogues for Nuvve Kavali. This movie won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. His first movie as a director was Nuvve Nuvve (2002). It won the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film. He has written and directed many other popular films. These include Nuvvu Naaku Nachav (2001), Athadu (2005), Jalsa (2008), Attarintiki Daredi (2013), and Ala Vaikuntapuramulo (2020).

Early Life and Education
Trivikram Srinivas was born as Akella Naga Srinivasa Sharma. His family lived in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh. When he was 14, he started dreaming of becoming a film director. However, he thought it was not possible because his family did not have much money. Even buying a train ticket to Hyderabad, where the movie industry is, seemed like a huge task.
Trivikram finished school in Bhimavaram. He earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree from D.N.R. College. Then, he moved to Visakhapatnam for his master's degree at Andhra University. In Visakhapatnam, he watched movies every day. He made sure his parents did not know about his dream to direct films. He also loved reading books very much. He finished his M.Sc degree in nuclear physics in just 15 months and won a gold medal.
After college, Trivikram worked as a high school teacher in Bhimavaram. He taught math, physics, and chemistry. His friend, actor Sunil, asked him to come to Hyderabad. Sunil was trying to get into the film industry and needed support. Trivikram agreed and started teaching students in Hyderabad to earn money. In his free time, he looked for chances to join the movie world.
Career in Movies
Starting as a Writer
Trivikram met a writer named Kommanapalli Ganapathi Rao. Rao suggested he publish a short story. Trivikram's story "Road" was published in a big Telugu newspaper called Andhra Jyothi. For this story, he first used his pen name "Trivikram," which later became very famous.
He got a chance to work on a film called Merupu (1996). But he had to leave because he could not afford to travel to the shooting location. Later, his friend, actor Gautam Raju, helped him. Gautam Raju introduced Trivikram to T. D. V. Prasad, who was working on Akka! Bagunnava? (1996). Trivikram wrote a new ending for the film, and another writer, Posani Krishna Murali, was very impressed.
Trivikram then worked for a TV show about films. Through Gautam Raju, he reconnected with Posani in Chennai. Trivikram used his earnings to travel to Chennai. There, he learned how to write movie scripts and dialogues from Posani. For 20 months, he gained a lot of experience writing for different kinds of films. Posani always introduced him as his assistant writer.
First Films as a Writer
Trivikram wanted to direct films, not just be an assistant writer. He met actor Venu and producer Venkata Shyam Prasad. He told them the story of Swayamvaram. The movie was released on 22 April 1999 and became a hit. This film was Trivikram's official start as a screenwriter.
Even after Swayamvaram was a success, Trivikram did not get many offers. He went back home for a while. Then, he got a call to help with the remake of a Malayalam film called Niram (1999). This remake became Nuvve Kavali. Trivikram rewrote all the dialogues for the film. He added humor and new characters, including one for his friend Sunil. Nuvve Kavali was released in late 2000 and became a huge hit. At the same time, he also wrote the story and dialogues for Chirunavvutho (2000).
After these successes, Trivikram continued to write stories and dialogues for many films. These include Nuvvu Naaku Nachav (2001), Manmadhudu (2002), and Malliswari (2004). He even wrote lyrics for a song in Oka Raju Oka Rani (2003). He also sang a part of a song in his first directed film, Nuvve Nuvve (2002). His writing style set a high standard in Telugu films.
Becoming a Director
While working on Nuvve Kavali, Trivikram told producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore about his script for Nuvve Nuvve. The producer liked it and asked Trivikram to direct it. Trivikram agreed and started directing Nuvve Nuvve in 2002. This was his first movie as a director. The film was praised by critics and did well at the box office.
His next film as a director was Athadu (2005). This movie was also very popular and earned a lot of money. It was even dubbed into other languages like Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. It was the first Telugu film to be released in Poland!
Trivikram's third film, Jalsa, was highly anticipated in 2008. It was released in many theaters and became a big hit. It was the highest-earning Telugu film of 2008. After Jalsa, he directed Khaleja (2010), working again with actor Mahesh Babu.
Continued Success
In 2011, Trivikram wrote the screenplay and dialogues for Teen Maar. Then, he directed Julayi (2012), which was a box-office hit. His next film was Attarintiki Daredi (2013). This movie faced a challenge when a pirated version was leaked online before its release. However, despite this, the film became a huge success. Critics called it a "perfect family entertainer."
Trivikram then directed S/O Satyamurthy (2015), which also did well. His romance film A Aa (2016) was also successful.
Recent Films
The year 2018 had mixed results for Trivikram. His film Agnyaathavaasi did not do well. But his other film, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, was a big hit. In 2020, his film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo became one of the highest-earning Telugu films ever at that time.
He also wrote the screenplay and dialogues for Bheemla Nayak (2022) and Bro (2023). His latest film as a director was Guntur Kaaram (2024), which was his third movie with Mahesh Babu.
Personal Life
In Hyderabad, Trivikram and his friends, including Sunil, R. P. Patnaik, and Dasaradh, used to meet at a café called "Try Luck." They would talk about getting chances in the film industry. Interestingly, they all started becoming famous in movies only after the café closed down! Trivikram still pays rent for a room in the Punjagutta area as a memory of those days.
Actor Sunil and Trivikram have been friends since their childhood in Bhimavaram. They both went to D.N.R. College and even got married on the same day!
In 2002, Trivikram married Sai Soujanya. She is the niece of a famous Telugu lyricist, Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. Trivikram and Sai Soujanya have two children.
How He Makes Films
Trivikram's writing is known for its clever and funny humor. His movies are famous for their creative and quick dialogues. Critics have praised his films for making characters more interesting and lively.
Trivikram often includes surprising action scenes in his movies. He also likes to show the same event from two different points of view. The female characters in his films often bring a lot of laughter. The male characters usually protect their families and focus on security. Themes like self-respect and the importance of relationships over money are also common in his stories.
