The Turok series is a collection of exciting video games. They are based on a comic book character who is a Native American hero. In these games, you play as Turok in a wild, ancient world. This world is full of dinosaurs and other amazing creatures.

The first games were made by a company called Acclaim Studios Austin. They were published by Acclaim Entertainment until 2004. Later, Propaganda Games took over developing the series. Touchstone Games then became the publisher. Most Turok games are first-person shooters. This means you see the game world through the eyes of your character. You use weapons to fight enemies.

Turok Games

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter

This was the very first game in the Turok series. Iguana Entertainment developed it, and Acclaim published it. It came out in 1997 for the Nintendo 64 and computers.

Years later, a new and improved version was made. This "remastered" version was released for Windows computers in 2017. It also came out for Xbox One in 2018. Nintendo Switch players got it in 2019, and PlayStation 4 players in 2021.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

This game is the direct sequel to Dinosaur Hunter. It was released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. A computer version followed in 1999.

There was also a separate Turok 2: Seeds of Evil game for the Game Boy Color in 1998. Even though it had the same name, its story was different. Like the first game, Turok 2 also got a remastered version. It came out for Windows and Xbox One in 2017 and 2018. The Nintendo Switch version was released in 2019.

Turok: Rage Wars

This game was released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999. It's considered "non-canon," meaning its story isn't part of the main Turok storyline. A Game Boy Color version came out in 2000. However, it was completely different from the Nintendo 64 game.

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion

This game is the sequel to Seeds of Evil. It was released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000. A Game Boy Color version was also released. Like Rage Wars, the Game Boy Color version was very different from the console game.

Turok: Evolution

Turok: Evolution is a prequel, meaning its story happens before Dinosaur Hunter. It was released in 2002 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. A 2D side-scrolling version was also made for the Game Boy Advance. A computer version came out in Europe in 2003.

Turok (2008)

This game is a "reboot" of the series. This means it starts a new story that is not connected to the earlier games. Propaganda Games developed it, and Touchstone Games published it. Disney Interactive Studios helped distribute it. It was released in 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A computer version was also released that same year.

Cancelled Games

Sometimes, game ideas don't make it to the final release. Here are some Turok games that were planned but never came out:

Turok Game Boy Advance Game

A test version of a Turok game was made for the Game Boy Advance. It was planned to be released before Turok: Evolution.

Turok: Evolution Sequel

After Turok: Evolution was released, a small team started working on a sequel. But the project was stopped, and the team moved on to other games.

Turok 2 (2008 Sequel)

This was a planned sequel to the 2008 Turok game. It was even called Turok 6 in some news. But it was cancelled while still being developed. This happened because many people at Propaganda Games lost their jobs.
