Tweezy's Early Life and Music Journey
Moving to Johannesburg
When Tweezy was just 6 years old, he moved to Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province. This happened after his parents passed away.
Discovering Music Production
In high school, when he was in grade 10, Tweezy found a computer program called FL Studio. At first, he thought it was just a "music making game." But he soon realized it was a powerful tool for creating real music!
Joining a Music Group
Tweezy joined a music group called "Ghetto Prophecy." There were 8 members in the group. In 2011, they made a song called "Oh My." This song became very popular! It reached number 16 on the top 40 songs list on YFM. It was also played a lot on other big radio stations like Metro FM and 5FM.
Starting a Solo Career
Sadly, the "Ghetto Prophecy" group broke up because they didn't have enough money to keep going. That's when Tweezy decided to become a music producer on his own. He wanted to create music for other artists.
Tweezy's Achievements and Awards
Becoming a Top Producer
Tweezy quickly became known for his amazing production skills. In 2014, he was nominated for "Producer of the Year" at the SA Hip Hop Awards. The next year, he won the award at the South African Hip Hop Awards 2015! He was also named "Producer of the Year" by Hype Magazine, a popular hip hop magazine in South Africa.
Releasing His Own Music
After producing for others, Tweezy released his first song as a solo artist. It was called "Ambitions." This song was a big hit and reached number two on YFM's Urban Top 40 chart.
Later, he released a new version of "Ambitions." This remix featured famous artists like South African rapper Khuli Chana, Nigerian artist Ice Prince, and singer-songwriter Victoria Kimani.
