Discovering Twin Peaks' Past
Twin Peaks was first settled in the 1860s. Many of the first people to live here were farmers who grew strawberries. Because of this, the area was first known as Strawberry Flat. Some of the very first buildings in the community included the Squirrel Inn, which is no longer there, and the Antlers Inn and Pine Rose Cabins, which you can still see today. The Antlers Inn started in 1919. It was built with about 20 cabins around a main building, and it was first called the Alpine Terrace Resort.
Calvary Chapel Bible College
In 1975, the Calvary Chapel Bible College bought and fixed up the Monte Corona resort. They turned it into a college where people could study the Bible and a place for conferences. In 1994, the college moved to Murrieta, California. The old Twin Peaks site then became a Christian Conference Center. However, the Bible College came back to Twin Peaks in July 2022 after almost 30 years! They are now doing a lot of work to fix up all the buildings on campus. This construction is also helping to create more jobs and bring more money into the community.
Church of Spiritual Technology
The Church of Scientology has a special place called the Church of Spiritual Technology in Twin Peaks. It has been located there since 1982.
