History of Underwood
Underwood was officially started on July 4, 1903. It was built along a new railway line called the Soo Line Railroad. This railway connected important cities like Bismarck and Max.
The city was named after Fred D. Underwood. He was an important person at the railroad company, serving as its vice president. A well-known businessman and politician named Alon Wieland was also born in Underwood.
