Veytaux is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Vaud, within the Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut area.
Veytaux is famous for being home to the beautiful Chateau of Chillon. This historic castle sits right on the edge of Lake Geneva, offering amazing views.

History of Veytaux
Veytaux was first mentioned in official records way back in the year 1332. At that time, it was known by the name Veytour.
Geography and Landscape
Veytaux covers an area of about 6.8 square kilometers (2.6 square miles). A large part of this land, about 74%, is covered by forests. About 14.5% of the land is used for farming. The rest is made up of buildings, roads, or rocky areas.
The municipality includes the main village of Veytaux and a smaller settlement called Grandchamp. Veytaux used to be part of the Vevey District. However, in 2006, it became part of the new Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut district.
