Victor Garber is a famous Canadian actor and singer. He was born on March 16, 1949. Victor Garber is well-known for his many roles on stage and in movies and TV shows.
He has been nominated for many awards, including the Gemini Awards, Tony Awards, and Emmy Awards. In 2022, he was given a special honor called the Order of Canada. This award recognizes people who have made a big difference in Canada.

Victor Garber's Early Life
Victor Garber was born in London, Ontario, Canada. His family has Russian-Jewish roots. His father was Joseph "Joe" Garber, and his mother, Hope Garber, was an actress, singer, and TV host. He has a brother named Nathan and a sister named Alisa.
Victor started acting when he was just nine years old in 1958. When he was 16, he studied at the University of Toronto. He also went to Ryerson Elementary School and London Central Secondary School. He learned acting at HB Studio in New York.
Becoming an Actor and Singer
His Music Career
In 1967, Victor Garber was a solo folk singer. Then, he started a folk group called The Sugar Shoppe. The group had some success and even had a song called "Canada" that made it into the Canadian Top 40. They performed on famous TV shows like The Ed Sullivan Show and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson before the group split up.
His Theatre Work
Victor Garber played Jesus in the 1972 Toronto production of Godspell. He acted alongside other famous people like Eugene Levy and Gilda Radner. He has been on Broadway many times. He was in the first shows of Deathtrap, Sweeney Todd, and Noises Off.
In 1998, he starred in the play Art with Alan Alda. In 2018, he returned to Broadway in the show Hello, Dolly!. He played Horace Vandergelder. Victor Garber received the Theatre World John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2018.
