Vienna /vaɪˈɛnə/ is a town located in Oneida County, New York, United States. In 2010, about 5,440 people lived there. The town is named after Vienna, which is the capital city of Austria. Vienna is in the western part of Oneida County.

History of Vienna
Vienna was created from a part of the town of Camden in April 1807. It was first called "Orange," then "Bengal" soon after it was formed. Eight years later, in 1816, it got its current name, Vienna.
Geography of Vienna
Vienna covers about 94.8 square miles (246 square kilometers). Most of this is land, about 61.5 square miles (159 square kilometers). The rest, about 33.3 square miles (87 square kilometers), is water.
The town is next to Oneida Lake. Its western edge touches Oswego County. The Erie Canal runs along its southern border, close to Sylvan Beach. Fish Creek forms part of the eastern border. It flows into the Erie Canal near Sylvan Beach.
