Vincent Sheu studied at Stanford University. He earned two advanced degrees there in June 2018: a law degree (called a J.D.) and a master's degree (M.S.) in Computer Science.
Before Stanford, Vincent went to the University of California, Berkeley. He earned degrees in Statistics and Molecular & Cell Biology in 2012, and a master's degree in Bioengineering in 2014. At Berkeley, he was the president of the Berkeley Cube Club. He even taught popular classes on how to solve the Rubik's Cube and how to solve it quickly!
Rubik's Cube Achievements
Vincent Sheu has been an active speedcuber since 2006. He often uses the CFOP method, which is a popular way to solve the Rubik's Cube layer by layer.
In 2011, he matched the world record for solving the 2×2×2 cube in an amazing 0.96 seconds! This happened at the Berkeley Winter Cube Competition.
At the 2014 US Nationals Competition, he tied the world record for the Fewest Moves Competition (FMC). In this event, cubers try to solve a 3×3×3 Rubik's Cube using the fewest possible moves. Vincent's average was 25 moves across three solves. He also set a North American record in the FMC event with a single solve of just 22 moves. Because of these achievements, he became the 2014 National Champion in the FMC category.
Media Appearances
