The Battle of Vittsjö: A King's Close Call

Vittsjö was once the site of an important event during the Kalmar War in 1612. This war was fought between Sweden and Denmark. During a battle here, the Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus almost drowned. He was trying to escape from Danish soldiers.
