Vladimir Yakovlevich Shainsky (born December 12, 1925 – died December 25, 2017) was a famous composer from the Soviet Union and Russia. He wrote many popular songs. He was also honored with the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1986. This was a very high award for artists.

Early Life and Music Journey
Vladimir Shainsky was born in Kiev. This city is now the capital of Ukraine. He started learning music at a young age. He first studied the violin at a music school in Kiev.
World War II and Education
In 1941, his studies were stopped by World War II. His family had to move to Tashkent. This city is in Uzbekistan today. He kept studying music there. He went to the Tashkent Conservatory. Later, he joined the Red Army during the war.
