Ward is a city located in Lonoke County, Arkansas, United States. It is the third largest city in the county by population. In 2020, about 6,052 people lived in Ward. The city is part of a larger urban area called the Little Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area. This area includes bigger cities like Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Conway.

Exploring Ward's Geography
Ward covers an area of about 11.15 square kilometers (4.31 square miles). All of this area is land. The city is divided into three main sections, called wards. These sections stretch from the northeast to the southwest.
Downtown and Central Areas
The first ward is in the northeast part of the city. This is where you'll find the downtown area. It's located along a railroad line that runs next to Arkansas Highway 367. This highway used to be part of U.S. Highway 67.
The second ward is in the center of Ward. This area includes the city's industrial zone. It also has easy access to major roads like Interstate 57, U.S. Highway 67, and U.S. Highway 167. Arkansas Highway 319 is an important road here, especially south of Highway 367.
Southwestern Development
The third ward is in the southwestern part of the city. Many new buildings and homes have been built here recently. This area is mostly along Peyton Street, extending south towards the Old Austin community and Arkansas Highway 38.
There's also a smaller part of the third ward located separately to the northwest. This section is also near the railroad line and Arkansas Highway 367. Ward Central Elementary School, which is part of the Cabot School District, is located in the larger part of the third ward.
