Wierden is a town and a municipality in the eastern Netherlands. It is located in the province of Overijssel. The name Wierden is pronounced like "WEER-den" (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋiːrdə(n)]). In the local Tweants dialect, it is called Wierdn.
The municipality of Wierden includes several other towns, villages, and smaller communities. These are:

Wierden has 10 primary schools and 1 secondary school, providing education for its young residents. For sports, there are 2 soccer clubs, 2 tennis clubs, and 1 volleyball club, among many others. . She is also the leader of the local government.Every summer, Wierden hosts a popular 3-day festival called "WieZo." It starts on a Thursday and ends on Saturday. Each evening, there are two musical performances on the Binnenhof, a central area. On Saturday, there is also a running event called the Wiezoloop. For some years now, the Wiezoloop has become its own event, happening about a month before the WieZo festival.
